Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience in the maintenance field.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
• Leadership experience preferred (1+ year).
• Ability to coordinate with others and prioritize tasks.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
• Perform specialized maintenance tasks as required (heavy machinery, carpentry, roofing, etc.).
• Delegate and direct activities of outside contractors; set priorities and certify invoices.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement fixes.
• Maintain records of maintenance tasks (electronic or paper).
• Plan and direct maintenance operations under supervision.
• Provide training and guidance to team members.

Job Summary:

GDI Ainsworth is looking for an energetic team member to responsible for performing routine and specialized maintenance and repairs in various areas such as buildings, equipment, and grounds. This may include tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and janitorial duties or other specialized work as required by client facilities. This role will include oversight of repairs and work in a manner to provide guidance and insight to fellow technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance.
• Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
• Performance of specialized maintenance work as required. Examples may include operation and maintenance of heavy machinery e.g. excavators/graders, maintenance of vehicles, basic millwork and carpentry repairs, roadways and grounds maintenance, maintenance of dock locks and levelers, maintenance of door systems, roofing repairs, etc.
• Delegating and directing the activities of outside contractors where needed including setting priorities, performing quality control checks and certifying invoices.
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
• Completion of electronic or paper-based records of maintenance tasks.
• Planning and directing maintenance operations under supervision.
• Problem solving for the team.
• Instructing team members on proper maintenance techniques and providing hands on training.

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• 5+ years’ experience in the maintenance field
• Skills in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and repairing or replacing faulty parts
• Ideally 1+ years of leadership involvement leading a maintenance support team
• Coordinating efforts to uphold operational standardsResponding promptly to maintenance issues
• Blend of technical expertise and leadership skills
• Prioritizing tasks effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Advanced organizational skills
