Job summary

McGough is seeking an Assistant Chief Building Engineer to oversee daily operation and performance of building systems. You will lead maintenance teams, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safety and reliability of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.

The role requires a strong customer service mindset, on-call availability, and collaboration with the Chief Building Engineer and Senior Property Manager to support capital projects and operational excellence.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
8+ years of commercial building maintenance experience.
Experience operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
First Class C Boiler’s License.
Knowledge of BAS platforms (Niagara/Tridium).
24/7 on-call rotation for emergencies.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operation of building systems and ensure safe, efficient performance.
Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
Respond to equipment failures and building emergencies.
Provide leadership and direction to Maintenance Technicians and Engineers.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors; manage service reports and performance.
Support budget tracking, capital planning, and energy initiatives.
