Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Building Official in Bedford Heights, OH to lead code compliance, plan reviews, and inspections. The role emphasizes strong communication with clients and supervision of department staff, leveraging OH CBO/CCO certifications and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold OH CBO Level 5 or CCO Level 6 certification.
• Plumbing/electrical specializations are a plus (Level 2 or 3).
• Additional OH certifications are a plus and inspection experience is preferred.
• Client and team management experience in a building department setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet all state and local code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to daily functions.
• Serve as primary liaison with clients and ensure high level of customer service.
• Attend department and community meetings as required by the client.
• Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential projects.
• Provide inspection support as needed.
• Supervise building department staff.
