Job summary

The State of Hawai‘i Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Institutions Division, seeks a Building Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the repair and maintenance of state buildings and facilities. You will plan, lay out, schedule and assign work; instruct staff and monitor quality and safety on job sites.

Requirements include 6 years of building maintenance experience (2 as journeyworker), a valid driver's license, legal work authorization, and PREA compliance.

Qualifications

• 6 years of work experience in building maintenance repair, including 2 years at journeyworker level.
• Valid driver's license at time of appointment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• PREA requirements compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in repair and maintenance of buildings.
• Plan, lay out, schedule and assign work of building maintenance workers.
• Instruct subordinates and demonstrate proper work methods.
• Check and inspect buildings, structures, equipment and facilities for repairs.
• Estimate material and labor costs; requisition materials.
• Inspect work in progress and upon completion for quality.
• Prepare oral and written reports of completed work.
