Job summary

American Electric Power Co. is seeking aBuilding Maintenance Technician-A Lead to perform skilled work on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical building systems. The role includes on-call duties, preventative maintenance and equipment installation in various facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Building Maintenance Technician A or at least three (3) years equivalent experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on HVAC equipment, generators and building systems.
• Perform general building maintenance including drywall, painting, ceilings, roofing and floors.
• Communicate with and assist contractors and team members to ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Maintain records and submit inspection reports as required.
• Interact with customers and respond to on-call emergencies as needed.
