Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Chief Building Engineer to lead preventive maintenance, repairs, and operations for complex facilities. You will supervise engineering staff, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.

The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, extensive knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, and ability to work without visa sponsorship in the United States.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5–8 years related experience.
• Ability to operate Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Universal CFC certification required.
• Experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems.
• Lead operations, assign work orders, and train coworkers and subcontractors.
• Arrange for subcontractors as needed.
• Consult with clients to schedule preventive maintenance during downtime.
• Plan preventive maintenance to extend equipment life.
• Oversee and inspect work to ensure quality and safety.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide timely support.
