Job summary

Colliers International is seeking a Lead Building Engineer in Minnesota to maintain and optimize building systems, ensure safety, and manage work orders. You will lead engineers, prioritize tasks, and perform regular inspections to minimize downtime.

You will build relationships with property managers and suppliers, manage inventory and schedules, and contribute to budgets and maintenance programs. Strong organization, communication, and technical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold Minnesota 2nd Class Grade C Boiler Operator license.
• Must have Refrigeration Universal Recovery Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing and energy management in buildings.
• Proficient with MS Office and maintenance software.
• Able to respond to after-hours/weekend emergencies.
• Valid driver’s license and jurisdictional licenses as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily operating logs for HVAC, utilities, and complaints.
• Ensure efficient handling of building systems and tenant service requests.
• Assist in annual budget development and project RFP processes.
• Follow procedures for cooling towers and boilers and ensure proper chemical treatment.
