- Proven leadership in a municipal building department.
- Technical knowledge of Rhode Island Building Codes and related regulations.
- Ability to manage plan reviews, inspections, permitting, and code compliance.
Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day operations of a municipal building division.
- Interpreting and enforcing Rhode Island Building Codes and local ordinances.
- Overseeing inspections, plan review, permitting, and customer service functions.
- Supervising inspectors, plans examiners, permit technicians, and staff.
- Representing the division in meetings with city staff and the public.
- Ensuring compliance with laws, adopted codes, and safety standards.
