Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Building Official to join our team of professionals. You’ll oversee code compliance, review plans for commercial and residential projects, and lead a building department team across our client sites.

This role requires strong communication, solid MS Office skills, and the ability to work in both office and field settings. Florida Building Official License is required. We offer competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programs.
• Client and team management experience in a building department setting.

Responsibilities

• Meeting state and local code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply building codes, policies and procedures to daily department functions.
• Serve as liaison with clients to deliver high-quality customer service.
• Attend department and community meetings as required by the client.
• Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential in all trades.
• Provide inspection support as needed.
• Supervise building department staff.
