Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Lead Building Automation Service Specialist to support our Latham, NY area and Regeneron pharmaceuticals onsite. The role involves managing digitalization efforts, maintenance, and service visits for building automation systems, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of hands-on BAS experience, strong open protocol knowledge (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP), and the ability to work OT hours, travel within the regional area, and mentor junior

Qualifications

5+ years of experience maintaining and diagnosing building automation systems.
Proficiency with BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP networking.
Ability and willingness to work in a variety of circumstances including ladders, scaffolds, high lift equipment, ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, and basements.
Verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies
Work with Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel
Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers
Successfully complete assigned training as outlined in the training path
Follow mandatory policies, procedures, and standards
Develop relationships at all levels within the customer’s organization and exhibit strong customer service skills
Identify customer needs and make prioritized recommendations for service agreements, upgrades, and escalations
Coordinate with contractors on job sites and maintain tools and test equipment
Respond to service calls (emergency and on-site) and perform repairs on all automation system types
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and document services performed and generate reports
Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper system operations and training
Identify and report system discrepancies and potential upgrades, assist in pricing repairs and upgrades
Perform system checkout and startup on projects and participate in final walks
Lead and mentor other Service Technicians and identify quote deficiency repairs
Develop strong working relationships with customers and use Siemens technology
Work overtime when needed and rotate on-call after about one year
