Job summary

DataOne is hiring a Lead Building Automation Controls Engineer to support BAS and HVAC controls at our Vineland data center. You will be the primary on-site technical resource, leading troubleshooting, coordinating maintenance, and guiding junior engineers while collaborating with Engineering, Facilities, IT, and external contractors to maintain reliability.

The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, system optimizations, and project involvement in commissioning and upgrades within a 24/7

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, and BAS operations.
Hands-on experience with Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and BAS software.
Ability to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation.
Experience with functional testing, point verification, and system inspections.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site monitoring and optimization of BAS and HVAC controls.
Diagnose alarms, equipment failures, and control issues.
Troubleshoot sensors, actuators, controllers, and networked devices.
Coordinate inspections, functional testing, and calibration checks.
Provide technical leadership to junior engineers and technicians.
Coordinate maintenance with Facilities, Engineering, vendors, and service providers.
Lead field activities for equipment upgrades, commissioning, and system integrations.
Review trends and performance data to identify recurring issues.
