Broadway Cannabis Market in Portland, OR is seeking a Lead Budtender/Keyholder at our SW Clay location to oversee opening/closing, floor operations, and customer support.

You will supervise Budtenders, manage cash duties, ensure compliance with OLCC rules, and maintain inventory, while delivering exceptional service to medical and recreational customers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, verify age/ID, and advise on cannabis products.
• Educate customers on safe cannabis use and stay updated on products and industry trends.
• Process customer payments using the POS system.
• Weigh, package, and label cannabis products per OLCC regulations.
• Keep the dispensary floor and check-in area clean, organized, and stocked.
• Process, fulfill, and close online and delivery orders.
• Monitor procedure updates and Slack communications.
• Open/close checklists and manage keys for front door, cage, and product cabinets.
• Assign POS drawers, balance cash, and log end-of-shift cash/tips.
• Oversee returns and de-escalate customer situations.
• Manage staff breaks and supervise in GM's absence.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate inventory needs.

Job description

Broadway Cannabis Market, where our motto is Premium Without the Price, is a recreational and medicinal cannabis dispensary chain across the greater Portland area. We are seeking a qualified applicant for a Lead Budtender/Keyholder position at our SW Clay location.

The Lead Budtender/Keyholder is responsible for ensuring all opening/closing procedures are executed completely, leading daily floor operations, and directly supporting customers and staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Core Budtender Duties:

• Greet customers, verify age/legal ID, and advise on suitable cannabis products based on customer needs, preferences, budgets, and strain effects.
• Educate customers on safe cannabis use and stay updated on new products, consumption methods, and industry trends.
• Process customer payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Correctly weigh, package, and label cannabis products in strict accordance with OLCC regulations.
• Ensure the dispensary floor and check-in area remain clean, organized, and well-stocked with cannabis and non-cannabis products.
• Process, fulfill, and close online and delivery orders.
• Monitor procedure updates and maintain daily communication on Slack.

Lead Budtender/Keyholder Leadership Duties:

• Complete opening/closing checklists and securely manage keys for the front door, cage, and product cabinets.
• Assign POS drawers to staff, ensure register assignment compliance, balance bank change, track change count logs, and execute end-of-shift cash/tip drops.
• Oversee customer returns, de-escalate difficult customer situations, and answer complex product questions.
• Manage break and lunch schedules for Budtenders and supervise staff in the absence of the Assistant or General Manager.
• Monitor stock levels continuously, enforce "End of Jar" and "New Strain on Floor" protocols, and communicate inventory needs to the Inventory Department.

Qualifications and Skills:
