EverHire in Boston seeks a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to direct inspection crews for bridges and tunnels, coordinating with clients and agencies to produce condition reports guiding maintenance and safety decisions in the region.

You will perform in-depth inspections with NDT, mechanised access, and climbing gear; oversee post-incident inspections, and mentor junior inspectors with potential growth into load ratings and design.

Qualifications

We are searching for a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join a well established Structural team in Boston. You will lead inspection crews on bridge and tunnel safety inspections, coordinate directly with clients and agencies, and produce the condition reports that inform maintenance and safety decisions across the region.

You will lead in depth inspections using non destructive testing, mechanised access equipment and climbing gear. You will also carry out post incident inspections, advising on damage severity, closures and detours. This role includes genuine leadership responsibility, guiding and developing junior inspectors, with the opportunity to broaden into bridge load ratings and design.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of bridges and tunnels and prepare written condition reports
• Lead in depth inspections using non destructive testing methods, mechanised access equipment and climbing gear
• Perform post incident bridge inspections, assessing damage severity and recommending closures and detoursCoordinate with bridge owners and agencies on inspection schedules, traffic control, railroad access and navigational channels
• Assign and review work, coach and train team members, and provide input on staffing and performance
• Support bridge load ratings and design work

Requirements

• Currently qualified under the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) as a bridge or tunnel inspection Team Leader
• Proven experience leading the work of others and maintaining strong client relationships
• Solid knowledge of bridge inspection methods, procedures and reporting
• Able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate bridge access windows
• Physically able to climb structures, work in confined spaces and navigate steep embankments
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with a working knowledge of AutoCAD

Preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) licence
• Completed NHI 130055 (Bridge Inspector’s Reference Manual) and NHI 130110 (Tunnel Safety Inspection), current with refresher requirements
• Approved as a MassDOT/MBTA Inspection Team Leader
• Additional NHI coursework such as fracture critical, tunnel inspection or ancillary structures
• Valid driver’s licence
