Job summary

Broadcom is seeking a Board Hardware Engineer in Duluth, GA to lead and execute front-end board designs in collaboration with the board architect, product management, mechanical thermal teams, and firmware for bring-up and validation.

You will create schematics, write functional specs, perform pre/post simulations, optimize BOMs, and coordinate packaging with layout and SI teams. Strong communication in English is required, with deep experience in high-speed PCB design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of PCB design and development experience.
• Experience with high-speed PCB designs.
• Experience designing and laying out DC/DC regulator circuits.
• Experience performing board bring-up with oscilloscopes and DMMs.
• Working knowledge of Cadence-Allegro tools.
• Experience with Cadence Sigrity PowerDC and OptimizePI; LTSPICE/PSPICE.
• Familiarity with DDR4, PCIe, UART, I2C, SPI and USB.

Responsibilities

• Interprets product requirement information into electronic schematic information.
• Works with component engineering on selecting and approving new components.
• Writes functional specifications and unit test plans.
• Can learn quickly company online document control system.
• Manipulates Bill of Materials.
• Works with physical design on routing constraints.
• Can do pre and post simulation of the board design.
• Works on multiple assignments and informs management of progress.
