Job summary

Crusoe Energy Systems LLC in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a founding engineer to lead BMC firmware for Crusoe's server platforms. You'll own architecture, bring‑up, release pipelines, security, and fleet reliability, guiding open BMC stacks and collaborating with ODM/OEM partners.

You'll hire and mentor the team, define platform requirements, and drive roadmap decisions while delivering robust telemetry and governance across the Crusoe Cloud.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of firmware engineering, with deep hands‑on BMC experience.
• Hands‑on expertise with at least one production BMC stack (OpenBMC, AMI MegaRAC, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience leading BMC bring‑up on new server platforms.
• Strong C/C++ on embedded Linux; comfortable in Python or shell for automation and tooling.
• Deep familiarity with BMC management protocols and standards: IPMI 2.0, Redfish, PLDM, MCTP, and NC‑SI.
• Hands‑on debugging across BMC‑to‑host interfaces: eSPI, LPC, IPMB, KCS, BT.

Responsibilities

• Define Crusoe's BMC architecture and stack strategy across current and future platforms.
• Lead BMC bring‑up on new server platforms — kernel, U‑Boot, device tree, sensor management, fan and thermal control, power sequencing, host interfaces.
• Own the BMC build, CI/CD, signing, and release pipeline end‑to‑end.
• Drive BMC security architecture: secure boot, root of trust, attestation, SPDM, signed update flows, firmware resiliency.
