Job summary

HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver seeks a Laboratory Department Supervisor to direct daily lab operations, coordinate testing, and ensure high-quality, timely results in a large hospital setting.

You will monitor staff performance, enforce CAP/JCAHO/FDA/AABB/CLIA standards, and train personnel while maintaining CQI data and test validity. A four-year technologist background and licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: ASCP or NCA or HEW required.
• Education: A college graduate with certification for MT, ASCP, NCA OR HEW; B.A./B.S. in Medical Technology or related field; internship or experience prior to examination.
• HEW/MLT certification requires related education/experience before examination.
• Experience: Four years minimum experience as a Technologist in the assigned area.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and computer skills; detail oriented and highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and directs daily activities of the department and performs technical testing to obtain timely, accurate clinical data.
• Monitors actions of staff, ensures quality service, and maintains compliance with CAP, JCAHO, FDA, AABB, and CLIA FACT standards.
• Provides technical assistance and training of Laboratory personnel; maintains CQI data and evaluates performance.
• Ensures validity/accuracy of test results by reviewing logs, QC, CQI, and worksheets; understands hospital services interactions.
• Continually improves knowledge, leadership, training, and technical skills through formal and informal education.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Laboratory Director; addresses age-related patient care for all ages.
• Adheres to iCARE behavioral standards in interactions with staff, providers, patients, and families.
