Job summary

Lakeview Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to lead a multi-department clinical lab team across Chemistry, Hematology, and Point of Care, ensuring accurate testing and compassionate patient care. You will establish policies, oversee staff competency, participate in CQI, and mentor students.

Requirements include Utah ASCP licensure, BS in Medical Technology, 4–5 years as a Medical Technologist, 2+ years in supervision, strong communication and leadership, and BLS/BCLS

Qualifications

• Current State of Utah ASCP licensure.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or equivalent.
• 4-5 years of experience as a Medical Technologist in an acute care hospital laboratory setting.
• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory/management position.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and written.
• Strong problem solving, management, prioritization, and leadership skills necessary.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the technical and administrative operational activities of all clinical laboratory areas including Chemistry, Hematology, and Point of Care.
• Establish and update policies and procedures in the laboratory to meet the standards and the needs of the patient, the physician, the hospital Administration, and the medical staff.
• May perform medical technology duties.
• Ensure that all individuals in the department who are responsible for the assessment, treatment, or care of patients are competent to deliver care appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
• Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
• Oversee the training and reviewing of students coming through the Laboratory for clinical practicums.
• Ensure that department policies and procedures are adhered to.
