Job summary

AHMC HealthCare is seeking an experienced CLS supervisor to lead the blood bank department and oversee all laboratory testing across shifts. The role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and policy adherence in collaboration with nursing and medical staff.

The ideal candidate will have a California CLS license, BCLS within 90 days, and at least six years of CLS experience. Strong English communication, dexterity, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent preferred.
• Hold a valid Clinical Laboratory Technologist license issued by the State of California DHS.
• BCLS card (AHA) within 90 days of hire.
• Must converse well in English due to physician, nurse, and patient contact.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to work under supervision and stress.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a CLS.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the blood bank department and oversee all shifts and testing operations.
• Ensure accuracy of results and proper documentation of patient, quality control, and maintenance data.
• Plan, staff, and delineate duties for testing and support personnel on the shift.
• Perform start-up/shut-down procedures and monitor instrument performance and maintenance.
• Verify results against prior data and handle abnormal values per policy.
