PathAI, Inc. in Boston, MA is seeking a Staff Biomedical Data Manager to lead the governance and architecture of clinical and translational research datasets.

You will define scalable data platforms and serve as the technical authority for digital pathology data, collaborating with leadership across ML, translational research, and product teams. This role focuses on end-to-end data management for multi-modal histopathology data, building reusable data models, and guiding deployments with CI/CD

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field.
• Three years of experience as Staff Biomedical Data Manager or progressive experience in biomedical data management focusing on data architecture, curation, and communication.
• Two years in Python or R for large-scale data wrangling, statistical modeling, and automated reporting.
• Two years building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark, Airflow, Databricks, or similar.
• One year managing end-to-end Digital Pathology workflows (WSI) including ingestion, storage, and metadata extraction.
• One year CI/CD for data (GitHub Actions), data monitoring and observability tools, and environment management (Docker).
• Experience with oncology pathology data or clinical trial data and handling sensitive datasets.

Responsibilities

• Define governance for clinical and translational research datasets and how they are hosted.
• Own the vision for scalable data platform capabilities and improve systems for high-velocity, multi-modal histopathology data.
• Serve as the technical authority for digital pathology data and set standards across partnerships.
• Architect end-to-end data models and workflows for large-scale programs and ensure data integrity.
• Drive the technical roadmap for data platform evolution with senior leadership for long-term opportunities.
• Lead documentation standards, SOPs, and cross-functional training for data teams.
• Oversee deployment validation and lifecycle management of major algorithm deployments.
• Develop tooling to improve data quality and reduce time to delivery.
