Job summary

KCAS Bio in Kansas City is seeking a Sr Scientist – Biomarker Method Development to design, develop, optimize, and troubleshoot ligand binding biomarker assays, ensuring robust performance and data integrity.

You will lead experiments, evaluate assay performance characteristics, support qualification/validation and method transfer, mentor junior staff, and communicate findings to clients and internal teams within regulated bioanalytical environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related field with 5+ years in a bioanalytical lab.
• Depth in biomarker method development and LBA assay troubleshooting.
• Hands-on ELISA/MSD and immunoassay experience, strong experimental design skills.
• Ability to interpret assay performance and communicate data clearly.
• Experience with regulated bioanalytical environments and QA collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, optimization, and troubleshooting of ligand binding biomarker assays.
• Evaluate assay performance and establish robust, scientifically sound methods.
• Support method qualification, validation, and transfer activities.
• Provide mentorship and technical training to junior scientific staff.
• Communicate findings and risks to internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with QA and stakeholders to ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
