Job summary

Remote Jobs is seeking a Lead BI Consultant with advanced Power BI expertise to work with clients on data-driven solutions. The role emphasizes data modeling with star schemas, DAX measures, and end-to-end Power BI deployments, including licensing considerations and multi-source data integration.

The ideal candidate will engage with customers and technical teams, translate business questions into BI solutions, and stay current with Power BI updates, licensing, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a data/BI field.
• 5+ years with data and BI on the Microsoft tool stack (SSRS/Power BI/PowerPivot/PerformancePoint) or comparable BI tools.
• Working knowledge of T-SQL, data modeling, and Power BI reporting.
• Experience delivering complete Power BI report solutions with drilldowns and nested parameters.
• Dynamic measures using advanced DAX and data mashups via Power Query/M.
• Databricks to develop and optimize data pipelines and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Conduct customer discovery meetings to determine reporting requirements.
• Advise on Power BI licensing options and platform limits.
• Create star schema data models for Power BI use, with proper columns and measures.
• Develop Power BI solutions including data import, reports, dashboards, and data elements using DAX and queries.
• Guide deployment of Power BI solutions to the Power BI service (Gateways, DirectQuery, Dataflows, Data Updates).
