Job summary
El Paso County Department of Human Services is seeking a Lead Benefits & Eligibility Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced eligibility professional who is ready to take the next step in their career while helping strengthen the knowledge, confidence, and performance of others.
As a Lead Benefits & Eligibility Specialist, you’ll serve as a key resource for the team, providing coaching and training, assisting with complex cases and policy interpretation,
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years of customer service or administrative experience.
- Associate's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
- Bachelor's degree may substitute for two years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and train staff; provide guidance and mentoring.
- Interpret program regulations and assist with complex cases.
- Conduct face-to-face/telephone interviews to assess eligibility.
- Monitor quality, audits, and workflow; report improvements.
- Assist with reporting, data analysis, and process changes.
- Provide backup to Benefit Eligibility Specialists.
- Develop and implement customer service and training initiatives.
- Work with leadership on workload and performance.
