Job summary

Ute Pass BOCES is seeking a Behavior Specialist to develop and implement comprehensive behavioral interventions for students with disabilities, delivering coaching to staff and collaborating with SPED leadership across multiple districts.

The role emphasizes Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, ethics, training, data collection, and compliance with CDE regulations. Salary range $65k-$75k and 182-day work year.

Qualifications

• Active Colorado CDE licensure as SSP or Special Education Teacher.
• BCBA endorsement preferred but not required.
• Experience with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA).
• Knowledge of LRE, FAPE and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Organizational skills to coordinate across districts.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication to train others.
• Commitment to ethics and ongoing professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate behavioral support programs across multiple districts.
• Conduct FBAs and other behavioral evaluations as part of IEP process.
• Plan, monitor, and oversee implementation of BIPs aligned with FAPE and LRE.
• Model intensive behavioral intervention services for staff.
• Deliver professional development and coaching on evidence-based strategies.
• Participate in team meetings and act as consultant to administrators and parents.
• Maintain compliance with CDE regulations and district/BOCES guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, coaching, and training activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education/Executive Director.
