Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Lead Behavioral Health Technician in Independence, Missouri. This leadership role supports a rapid access unit, supervising technicians, guiding client care, and maintaining trauma-informed practices in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, or HS diploma plus 2+ years in human services.
• Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet background checks and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Behavioral Health Technicians on shift, providing guidance and real-time coaching.
• Supervise daily activities of clients in a safe, therapeutic, and structured community.
• Model professional conduct, boundaries, and trauma-informed care practices.
• De-escalate crisis situations using approved behavioral management techniques with leadership direction.
• Facilitate education, skill-building, and recreational groups as scheduled.
• Assist with training, onboarding, and supervision of staff.
