Job summary

HappyGlobal Service seeks a technically seasoned battery cell leader (Staff/Senior/Principal) to act as the primary interface with U.S. OEM customers for cell design, validation, and industrialization.

You will guide architecture decisions, performance targets, and manufacturability, coordinating with global teams across DFMEAs and APQP processes. The role requires deep electrochemistry knowledge, hands-on test experience, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, electrochemistry, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in lithium-ion battery cell development, characterization, testing, or validation.
• Experience completing at least one full lithium-ion cell product-development cycle.
• Hands-on experience with cell performance, life and degradation tests.
• Knowledge of capacity/dV analysis and differential voltage analysis.
• Experience with electrochemical characterization techniques (GITT, EIS, CV, PITT).
• Understanding of cell manufacturing processes and aging/degradation mechanisms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead technical interface for U.S. OEM customers on battery cell design, development, validation, and industrialization.
• Provide technical leadership in discussions on cell architecture, materials, safety, life, fast charging, and manufacturability.
• Represent cell design and capabilities to OEM customers and communicate roadmap and maturity.
• Translate customer requirements into cell-level design targets and trade-offs.
• Develop cell design solutions balancing energy density, safety, durability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Lead design reviews, workshops, and engineering discussions from RFIs through mass production.
• Develop test methods and validation strategies for cell- and pack-level performance and safety.
• Analyze test data, identify risks, and recommend design improvements.
• Lead root-cause investigations and communicate findings to customers.
• Provide lifecycle technical leadership from concept to post-launch improvement.
• Collaborate on DFMEAs/PFMEAs and coordinate FMEA reviews with customers.
• Support APQP, PPAP, design/process reviews, and technical audits.
• Build relationships with OEM cell, pack, vehicle, safety, validation, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, quality, and IP teams to advance solutions.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 30% for engagements and launches.
