Job summary

YMCA in Fairless Hills, PA is seeking a Lead Basketball Coach to join our team on a part-time, hourly basis. Schedule includes Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45pm to 9:30pm and Saturdays from 11:00am to 2:00pm, with compensation of $20.00-$23.00 per hour.

You will plan engaging practices, teach fundamentals, and foster a positive environment for children, while ensuring safety and communication with families. Flexible schedule and YMCA membership benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching basketball or leading youth sports programs.
• Enjoyment from working with children and maintaining positive relationships with their parents.
• Knowledge of basketball rules, fundamentals, and skill progression.
• Ability to work effectively with children of varying ages and skill levels.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead by example and promote teamwork and respect.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate basketball practices and games.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills, rules, and strategies in a positive, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all participants with a focus on building confidence.
• Ensure participant safety and follow all organizational policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding program expectations and progress.
• Assist with program setup, equipment management, and facility care.
• Model good sportsmanship and serve as a positive role model.
