Job summary

Philaymca in Royersford, Pennsylvania is looking for a Youth League Official/Coach who loves connecting with others to positively impact youth through sports. You will run on-site youth sports leagues, coaching and officiating games while providing an excellent experience for participants.

The ideal candidate is at least 16 years old, has excellent knowledge in sports like Basketball and Soccer, and can commit to flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Join us at the Y for an amazing, fulfilling experience!

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• Excellent knowledge of instructing in Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football, and more.
• Ability to perform activities requiring sustained concentration.

Responsibilities

• Run on-site instruction for youth sports leagues including stretch & warmup.
• Coach youth teams in practices & games.
• Officiate youth games following NFL Flag rules and MLS Soccer rules.
• Teach age-appropriate skills following YMCA curriculum.
• Ensure classes begin on time and provide a safe environment.

What is needed for this job:

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Excellent knowledge of instructing in the program area - Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football, and more!
• Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention.
• Mornings, nights, and/or weekend availability

The responsibilities we will trust you with:

Run on-site instruction for youth sports leagues including stretch & warmup, activities, & games for respective sport

Coach youth flag football, soccer, basketball teams in practices & games

Officiate youth flag football games via NFL Flag rules, youth soccer via MLS Soccer rules, and basketball games depending on the season

Teach age-appropriate skills following YMCA curriculum for respective sport

Set up class 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time to ensure classes begin on time

Provide a safe & clean environment that allows members and participants to learn YMCA programs

Take attendance to ensure participants are enrolled in class

Lead teams with positivity & enthusiasm

Provide excellent service to members and participants
