Cambria Hotel Washington D.C. Navy Yard Riverfront is seeking a Lead Bartender to oversee daily bar operations, deliver knowledgeable, attentive service, and mentor the bar team in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of bartending experience, strong beverage knowledge, and proven leadership, with responsibilities including inventory, cost control, guest engagement, and collaboration with the kitchen on promotions.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of bartending experience in a high-volume setting.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer, wine, and service techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead bar operations during shifts, including opening, service, and closing.
• Prepare and serve beverages accurately per recipes and standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to bartenders, barbacks, and staff.
• Train staff on drink preparation, knowledge, service, and sanitation.
• Monitor inventory, control costs, and communicate ordering needs.
• Ensure a clean, organized bar meeting health and safety requirements.
• Process payments and adhere to cash-handling procedures.
