Cambria Hotel Washington D.C. Navy Yard Riverfront is seeking a Lead Bartender to oversee daily bar operations, deliver knowledgeable and attentive service, and lead the bar team during service.

The role emphasizes beverage quality, cost controls, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong beverage knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of bartending experience in high-volume settings.
• Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer, and wine.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
• Current valid responsible alcohol-service certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead bar operations during assigned shifts.
• Prepare and serve beverages per recipes and standards.
• Provide leadership to bartenders and barbacks.
• Train staff on drink preparation, product knowledge, sanitation.
• Deliver hospitality and resolve guest concerns.
• Monitor beverage quality and consistency.
• Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety compliance at the bar.
• Process payments and follow cash-handling procedures.
• Enforce responsible alcohol-service practices.
• Collaborate with management on menu development and events.
• Address issues and escalate when needed.
