Job summary

Barnes & Noble in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Lead Barista to energize the café, mentor teammates, and ensure compelling product presentation and smooth daily operations on the floor and at the registers.

You will train and coach staff, uphold cleanliness and FIFO stock practices, coach customers with confident, friendly conversations, and lead by example to create a welcoming environment for both customers and booksellers.

Qualifications

• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance, leading by example on floor.
• Fill scheduling gaps and cover shifts across extended hours and weekends.
• Lead by example with energy, keeping the team motivated and focused.
• Spot theft risks and de-escalate challenging situations per policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach café team to maintain product presentation standards.
• Oversee efficient running of the café, including during busy periods.
• Coach baristas on customer conversations and speed at the register.
• Ensure FIFO stock handling and delivery unpacking.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the café and book floor.
