Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Starbucks Lead Barista for the Omaha Marriott Downtown. You will guide and support the shift, craft drinks to standard, and create a warm, welcoming guest experience in a premier downtown Omaha hotel.

Join a team at the heart of the Capitol District, where you will train staff, manage cash, and maintain a spotless workspace while delivering exceptional service and upscale coffee beverage experience.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to learn all menu items and up-selling techniques.
• Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, and total charges.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and read/speak English to communicate with guests.
• Ability to operate keyboard and POS procedures for cashier functions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the manager's absence and train new team members.
• Provide quality beverages consistently, preparing Starbucks drinks to standard.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing products.

• Balance house bank and manage cash handling per guidelines.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to meet health standards.

What you will be doing:

• Supervise staff in the manager's absence and train new team members.
• Provide quality beverages consistently for all customers, preparing Starbucks beverages to standard.
• Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
• Ascertain guest satisfaction; in the event of dissatisfaction, tactfully negotiate an accommodation.
• Comply with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, cash drawer and house bank management.
• Balance house bank at the end of the shift.
• Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard outlet cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.

What we are looking for:

• Previous Barista experience is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Must be able to learn all menu items and up-selling techniques.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and total all other charges.
• Ability to effectively resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check total.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficient to understand menus and special promotions, and communicate with guests.
• Ability to operate keyboard and Point of Sale procedures to handle cashier functions.
