Job summary

The Omaha Marriott Downtown at Capitol District, home to Society 1854, seeks a dedicated Server to deliver premium dining experiences in downtown Omaha. You will provide food and beverage service in a friendly, timely, and professional manner, contributing to a superior guest experience.

Greet guests, input orders in POS, deliver meals with condiments, handle payments, and resolve issues, while maintaining high standards of service and appearance.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more of service in a fine dining outlet preferred.
• Proficient in English for guest requests, memos, and reservations.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and explain specials & promotions.
• Record and input guest orders into the POS system.
• Retrieve, confirm, and deliver orders with condiments; follow liquor regulations.
• Replenish beverages and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Collect payment, thank guests, and invite them to return.
• Complete side work and cleaning tasks including restocking and replenishing condiments.
• Address and resolve guest complaints.

As a Server at Society 1854 located in the Omaha Marriott Downtown, you will tailor the dining experience to each guest providing food and beverage services in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner resulting in a superior level of guest satisfaction.

What will you be doing?

• Greet guests and explain specials & promotions.
• Understand menu including ingredients and preparation of the dishes to the delivery and service expected to accompany the dish.
• Record and input guest orders into the Point of Sale system.
• Retrieve, confirm, and deliver orders with condiments; follow liquor regulations.
• Replenish beverages and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Collect payment, thank guests, and invite them to return.
• Complete side work and cleaning tasks including restocking and replenishing condiments.
• Address and resolve guest complaints.

What do you bring to the role?

• High school degree or equivalent preferred
• Must have high level of knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, etiquette, appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
• One year or more of service in a fine dining outlet preferred.
• Handle customer complaints with empathy and provide proactive solutions.
• Proficient in English for guest requests, memos, and reservations.
• Ability to work POS system and cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted on occasion as well as move through crowded rooms to seat guests.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays and have reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.TIPS and Douglas County food handler certification required.CPR certification and / or First Aid Training preferred.
