Job summary

Avion Hospitality in Charleston, SC is seeking a Lead Barista to create exceptional guest experiences while supporting the daily operation of the coffee shop. This role includes coaching, training, inventory management, and maintaining quality standards within a positive, collaborative team.

The Lead Barista will oversee beverage preparation, ensure consistency, perform pre/post-shift tasks, assist with scheduling and receiving deliveries, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a barista or working in a coffee shop.
• Previous hotel maintenance or security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every guest with hospitality and provide personalized service.
• Ensure beverage consistency.
• Perform pre and post-shift side work: stocking, making coffee, etc.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas; set up bar and back bar per procedures.
• Prepare beverages as requested according to SOPs for consistent products.
• Train and mentor new baristas on recipes, equipment, service standards, food safety and cleanliness.
• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, stocking and receiving deliveries.
• Review labor standards and schedule according to standards and business levels.
• All other duties as assigned by hotel leadership.

Job Functions & Duties

• Welcome every guests with genuine hospitality and provide personalized service
• Ensure beverage consistency
• Perform pre and post-shift side work, including stocking the service station, making coffee, etc.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to maximize efficiency; set up the bar and back bar according to established procedures
• Prepare beverages requested by customers or servers according to standard operating procedures (e.g., proper proportions and ingredients to control costs and provide a consistent product to guests)
• Train and mentor new baristas or recipes, equipment operation, service standards, food safety and cleanliness
• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, stocking, and receiving deliveries
• Review labor standards and schedule according to those standards and business levels
• All other duties as assigned by hotel leadership

Requirements

Experience & Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
