Job summary

Farmhouse Table LLC in New York is seeking a Baker to oversee bakery operations, ensuring timelines and quality standards. You will work with the kitchen team to prepare menu items and manage high volumes, while representing Farmhouse Table at events when needed.

As a key member of the shop and café team, you will drive efficiency, maintain inventory, and foster a positive, inclusive environment aligned with Farmhouse Table vision and values. Flexibility for events may be required.

Qualifications

• 2-7 years' experience in a professional kitchen.
• 2-7 years' experience in a catering/large production kitchen.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Leadership & management experience preferred.
• Food Safety knowledge and certifications.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and financial acumen.
• Culinary knowledge and expertise.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
• Work multiple hours in a standing/seated position.
• Be in high heat conditions due to weather and cooking environment.
• Strong computer skills with adaptability for leveraging existing and new software effectively.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Baked Goods Production: Creating, testing, preparing, and packing of baked items in alignment with brand identity, accommodating various dietary restrictions, and weekly menu requirements.
• Operations Management: Food safety & sanitation, inventory & equipment management, quality control, and collaboration with kitchen and front of the house staff and management to reinforce high standards, teamwork, and a safe working environment.
• Budgeting & Financial Planning: Managing recipe, ingredient, equipment, and staffing budgets to drive increased margins for profit alongside the integrity and mission of the brand.
• Customer service focus to drive exceptional interactions and client satisfaction, including addressing any dietary requests or concerns, pivoting quickly for menu adjustments, leveraging foresight to be preventative of potential shortfalls or necessary changes.
• Adhere to and uphold Farmhouse Table Food's vision and values.
