Job summary

Mastercard is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to build backend and full-stack capabilities for a real-time decisioning platform that scores and approves billions of transactions. You will own technical areas end to end, write code, shape architecture, mentor engineers, and deliver reliable services, APIs, and user-facing tools.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on software engineering in backend services, APIs, full-stack apps, or complex production systems.
• Experience owning technical areas end to end: design, implement, test, deploy, production support.
• Solid fundamentals in software design, architecture, data modeling, testing, and secure coding.
• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction through reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own backend and full-stack capabilities end to end from problem definition to production support.
• Design and build scalable services, APIs, workflows, dashboards, and frontend experiences.
• Set architectural direction and ensure maintainable solutions across teams.
• Lead through code and design reviews, and raise quality with instrumentation and observability.
