Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the MPGS engineering team. You will design, build, test, deploy, and support large-scale payment gateway applications while mentoring teammates and driving reliability through observability and production support.

You will lead backend development with Java 17+, Spring Boot, and modern front-end frameworks, collaborating with QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available systems.

Qualifications

• Advanced Java experience (Java 17+) with Spring Boot.
• Experience designing/maintaining unit, functional and integration tests.
• Hands-on observability/monitoring with Dynatrace, Datadog or Splunk.
• Experience with CI/CD and automation tools including Jenkins/Artifactory.
• Experience with cloud environments (public or private).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain large-scale software applications and globally deployed payment gateway products.
• Build scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions using Java 17+ and Spring.
• Contribute across full SDLC from design through deployment and support.
• Develop backend services and contribute to frontend using modern frameworks such as React/Vue/Angular.
