Job summary

DigiCert is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services powering its trust and identity platforms. You’ll collaborate with product managers, architects, and UX teams to deliver enterprise-grade software with performance, reliability, and security at the forefront.

The role emphasizes Java, Spring, REST, cloud deployments (AWS/Azure), and containerization with Kubernetes and Docker.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining backend services with Java.
• Experience with RESTful services and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers and architects to understand project requirements and technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following standards and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews to improve quality and consistency with architecture.
• Analyze defects, troubleshoot, and provide timely solutions for customers.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to improve development processes and tools.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and drive technical innovation within the team.
