Job summary

HCVT is building a new Azure cloud platform as the backbone for a multi‑year modernization program. We seek a Lead Staff Azure Cloud Engineer who will own design and implementation from week one, writing code, standing up pipelines, and setting the standard for the team.

You will collaborate with IT, security, and network teams to land on shared standards, codify them into automation, and drive a culture of secure, scalable infrastructure delivery across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in cloud infrastructure/platform engineering with production ownership.
• Well‑rounded Azure Cloud generalist—Terraform/IaC, networking, and security.
• Hands‑on Terraform module authorship, remote state, and environment strategy.
• Strong Azure networking and security: hub‑spoke, NSGs, Azure Firewall, DNS, private endpoints.
• Experience with policy‑as‑code approaches and IaC security scanning.
• Proven ability to build CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes and be the first cloud engineer on a program.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the Azure landing zone aligned with CAF and Well‑Architected Framework.
• Develop AVM-based base modules and custom Terraform components.
• Own Terraform Cloud setup: state management, workspaces, and variable governance.
• Configure networking: hub‑spoke topology, firewalls, private endpoints, and DNS.
• Codify standards into automation and documentation for future team growth.
• Establish policy‑as‑code guardrails and automate governance on plans.
• Create CI/CD pipelines with auto‑plan, gates, and approvals.
• Set up security and observability baselines: Defender for Cloud and Log Analytics.
