Job summary

JPMorganChase in Houston seeks a Lead Software Engineer to be a core technical contributor in the Commercial & Investment Bank. You will design, build, and deliver trusted technology products in a secure, scalable manner, guiding best practices across the SDLC.

You will lead with AI-assisted tooling, drive secure coding, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to shape architectural designs for front/mill/back-office workflows within a dynamic trading environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s).
• Direct experience in Macro or FICC businesses and trading systems and understanding of front office, middle office and back office operations and flows.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and debugging with ability to tackle non-routine problems.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI-assisted development and automation, to improve value.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs.
