Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Mission Systems Integrated Product Team Development Lead to join the Avionic Integration Organization. The role is onsite in Rancho Bernardo, CA, leading a ~45–50 engineers team across Comms, Networks, Payloads and Software to deliver complex program milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 14+ years of related engineering experience, or Master’s with 12+ years, or PhD with 10+ years.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and effective communication at all levels.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) of labor, material or subcontract accounts.
  • Experience leading a technical team and risk management.
  • Active DoD Secret or higher clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse engineering team of 45–50 engineers across Comms, Networks, Payloads and Software.
  • Oversee MS IPT scope and activities from proposals to close‑out.
  • Provide technical guidance, leadership and mentorship to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Serve as MS IPT focal point for Program Management on technical, cost and schedule reporting.
  • Manage CAM for labor and subcontract accounts and support EAC forecasting.
  • Coordinate staffing with IPT leadership to maintain relevant skills.
  • Perform risk and opportunity management with mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Management for supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with Chief Engineer and customers to define and execute design vision.
  • Drive first‑time quality and promote a culture of technical rigor.
