Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Rancho Bernardo, CA, seeks a Senior Principal Aeronautical Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Hardware Avionics team. You will contribute to subsystems including RadAlt, ADS, and FCAS, performing flight/lab testing and coordinating with suppliers.

The role requires a STEM degree and 6–8+ years of relevant experience, DoD Secret clearance eligibility, and proficiency with MATLAB and MS Office, plus hands-on test equipment know-how.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in STEM with required experience in avionics or military programs.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable time.
• Experience with MS Office and MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Integrate avionics hardware with defined interfaces and redundancy.
• Conduct investigations, system and flight testing in labs.
• Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting for production and field issues.
• Support proposal development, planning, verification, cost/risk analysis, and trade studies.
• Transform customer requirements into total system solutions balancing tech, schedule and cost.
