Job summary

Amplify People is seeking a Lead AV Technician for a high-end residential automation role. You will install and program luxury AV systems, lead field installations, and ensure top-tier quality and customer satisfaction.

The position starts as a contract (3–12 months) with potential to become permanent. Strong Control4 expertise, blueprints literacy, and reliable travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience installing residential or commercial AV systems.
  • Extensive Control4 experience is required and independent programming is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in installation of high-end residential AV and automation systems.
  • Program, configure, and commission Control4 systems independently.
  • Install TVs, speakers, racks, control systems, networking equipment, shades, and related tech.
  • Terminate, label, and test audio, video, network, and control cabling.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system documentation.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to high quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot installation and programming issues in the field.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and technicians.
  • Maintain organized job sites and uphold professional installation standards.

Job Overview

As a Lead AV Technician, you will play a hands-on role installing and programming luxury residential AV and automation systems. This position is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable leading installations in the field and programming Control4 systems independently.

You’ll oversee project execution, mentor other technicians when needed, and ensure every installation meets the highest standards of quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.

  • Troubleshoot installation and programming issues in the field

  • Maintain organized job sites and uphold professional installation standards
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience installing residential or commercial AV systems
  • Extensive Control4 experience is required
  • Must be able to independently program and commission Control4 systems—this is a non-negotiable requirement
  • Must be comfortable performing both installation and programming duties
  • Experience with Lutron, ELAN, and Crestron is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand AV system design
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel for project assignments
Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and lift up to 80 pounds.
