Job summary

Uber is seeking a Lead Product Manager for Autonomous Vehicle Platforms to define how partner vehicles integrate with Uber's platform, from OEM specs to onboard hardware and software, enabling scalable, reliable robotaxi operations.

You will work with vehicle strategy, engineering, design, operations, and external partners, owning technical requirements and driving trade-offs across cost, reliability, and performance, with travel up to 40%.

Qualifications

• Experience building and launching complex hardware or vehicle products from prototype through production, including firmware dependencies and release milestones.
• Experience working with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to define requirements and align on development and release schedules.
• Strong technical fluency in vehicle systems and architecture to balance mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software considerations.
• Ability to own ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end and drive them through execution.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform strategy and requirements for Autonomous Vehicle Platforms, defining what partner vehicles must support to operate reliably on Uber.
• Define and maintain minimum vehicle specifications across OEM partnerships and vehicle programs to support current and future commercialization use cases.
• Own evolving vehicle platform requirements across hardware, embedded software, interfaces, and core system architecture.
• Partner with business development and vehicle strategy teams to align cost and capability trade-offs and define roles and responsibilities for partnerships.
• Serve as the primary technical product representative in partner and OEM engagements, driving alignment and closing gaps.
• Drive trade-off decisions across cost, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and performance to ensure durable platform choices.
• Create mechanisms for scalable execution: requirements docs, interface definitions, decision frameworks, and readiness criteria.
• Communicate roadmap, risks, and key decisions clearly to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
