Job summary

Atoms is seeking a Robotics Engineer to develop and deliver autonomy features for real trucks. You will own system-level debugging across sensors, compute, networking, and software stacks, coordinating bring-up, triage, and cross-team fixes in mission-critical environments.

Travel to customer sites and hands-on on-vehicle debugging are expected. Strong ROS-like robotics concepts, testing, and field deployment experience are prized, with onsite work in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in at least one modern language (Python/C++/Java/C#).
• Robotics system-level ownership and debugging experience.
• Diagnostics-focused with logs/metrics and fault isolation.
• Core robotics concepts: state estimation, localization, planning, controls.
• Ability to define scope, interfaces, milestones, and success criteria.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities for cross-functional work.
• Experience deploying autonomy/robotics systems in the field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy autonomy features for real vehicles.
• Own system-level debugging across sensors, compute, networking, and controls.
• Lead deployment bring-up plans and coordinate fixes with teams.
• Support field deployments; travel to customer sites as needed.
• Bring up and integrate new truck platforms with hardware teams.
• Collaborate across hardware, operations, safety, and product for safe autonomy.
