Job summary

Main Street Auto is seeking a highly skilled Lead Automotive Technician to join our shop. You will apply your diagnostic expertise and lead a team of technicians to deliver high-quality repairs.

This role emphasizes mentoring, scheduling, accurate estimates, safety, and exceptional customer service. Hours are 8:00-5:00, Monday to Friday, with no weekends. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, plus ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as an Automotive Technician with diagnostics focus.
  • Proven leadership to guide a team of technicians.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems including electrical, mechanical, and engines.
  • Proficient with diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organization.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex diagnostic procedures and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, including electrical, mechanical, and engine systems.
  • Lead and mentor a team of automotive technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality workmanship.
  • Oversee the scheduling and assignment of repair jobs, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and timely completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with the service advisor to provide accurate and detailed repair estimates, including identifying parts and labor requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations, promoting a safe working environment for the team and customers.
  • Stay updated with the latest automotive technology, trends, and repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Utilize automotive diagnostic equipment, tools, and software to efficiently diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used, utilizing our shop management system.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and clean work environment, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns, explaining repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
