Job summary

Bridgestone Americas in Poway, CA is seeking a Lead Technician with strong diagnostic and leadership skills to guide a team in providing top-quality auto care. This role focuses on drivability, electrical systems, and delivering customer satisfaction through a flat-rate pay model.

You will mentor peers, pursue ASE certifications, and uphold safety and compliance. This full-time, on-site position offers competitive pay and benefits, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Valid automobile driver's license required.
• Brakes diagnosis/repair expertise.
• Alignment/steering/suspension diagnosis/repair skills.
• General automotive maintenance & tire repair know-how.
• Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
• Reading, writing and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications (brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C, and computer systems).
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanics clearly.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Assist and train technicians in performing technical activities.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications (5 of A1–A8) within two years; tests paid by the company; bonus per test passed.
