Job summary

Baker Group in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Automation Technician with 3-5 years of automation experience to start-up, checkout and program Building Automation and Control Systems. You will configure DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, and perform wiring checks and software uploads.

You will set up BACnet and Modbus networks, interpret SOO, create graphics and dashboards, and mentor junior technicians on mid-size projects, while ensuring QA/QC logs and commissioning records meet standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of automation field experience.
• Associates in Electronic, Technology, or Automation or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Start-up of microprocessor-based control components (DDC controllers, sensors, actuators).
• Point-to-point checkout of wiring for grounding, polarity, communication and power.
• Set up and calibration of input/output devices (temperature sensors, transducers).
• Uploading, downloading, and modification of control software and programs.
• Create and troubleshoot BACnet and Modbus networks.
