Job summary
Flex in Buffalo Grove, IL is seeking an Experienced Automation Technician Lead to maintain and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment, including robots, conveyors, and vision systems. You will support daily production to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets.
The role requires 5+ years in automation, an associate degree or technical diploma, and strong electrical/mechanical aptitude. You will collaborate with engineering and production teams and lead a shift of automation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment (production environment).
- Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and control diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with sensors, pneumatics, motors, drives, and servo systems.
- Experience with robotics and vision systems is a plus.
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Automation or related field.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated production equipment.
- Lead and supervise automation technicians on shift.
- Respond to equipment downtime and diagnose root causes.
- Assist with safety interlocks and guarding verification.
- Document repairs, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Support process improvements and yield improvements.
