Job summary

Honeybee Robotics, part of the Blue Origin family, seeks an experienced Project Engineer for the Colorado Motion Control unit to lead automated manufacturing solutions from requirements through production-ready systems. You will drive cross-functional collaboration, develop process simulations, and manage scope, schedule, and budget in a production environment.

The role requires hands-on engineering for mechanical and/or controls, plus leadership experience on automation projects, to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or related engineering field
• 5+ years hands-on experience in automated manufacturing design, build, and commissioning
• 2+ years in a project management, technical lead, or equivalent leadership role on automation projects
• Hands-on automation experience in mechanical design and controls engineering
• Experience with automation simulation and cycle time analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Engage internal customers to define, document, and validate system requirements for automated manufacturing solutions
• Develop simulations and cycle time models of machines and lines to optimize automation strategies
• Create initial conceptual solutions for automated manufacturing equipment and present to stakeholders
• Lead Design for Automated Manufacturing initiatives with product design teams to improve manufacturability
• Prepare cost estimates, labor-hours, and schedules for automation projects; develop scopes of work
• Own project execution from requirements to commissioning, maintaining schedule and budget
• Maintain technical knowledge and act as primary contact for system requirements and decisions
• Evaluate automation component suppliers and support procurement decisions
• Collaborate with engineering during detailed design and maintain alignment with intent
