Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation in St. Charles, IL seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair automated production machinery, including high-speed lines, PLCs, HMIs, and servo systems.

You will lead preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and support spare parts inventory to minimize downtime. Qualified candidates bring 4+ years of hands-on maintenance experience on automated equipment, strong electrical and mechanical skills, and the ability to train operators on PM tasks.

Qualifications

• Read / Interpret blueprints, drawings, wiring schematic diagrams, and complex equipment manuals.
• Utilize advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in problem assessment.
• Tests and evaluate equipment performance.
• Support development / implementation of preventative maintenance programs on all equipment.
• Train production operators on how to perform and assist with simple PM duties.
• May complete purchase requisitions for the purchase of spare parts.
• Investigate causes of machine problems, raw materials, tooling and equipment.
• Recommend improvements to processes and equipment to improve efficiency.
• Properly document new procedures and machine changes or additions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, diagnose, solve, and then fine tune/repair machine problems in collaboration with manufacturing engineering and production supervisors.
• Read / Interpret blueprints, drawings, wiring schematic diagrams, and complex equipment manuals.
• Utilize advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in problem assessment.
• Tests and evaluate equipment performance.
• Support development / implementation of preventative maintenance programs on all equipment.
• Work closely with production supervisors to schedule PM activities.
• Train production operators on how to perform and assist with simple PM duties.
• Support developing and maintaining the equipment spare parts inventory.
• May complete purchase requisitions for the purchase of spare parts.
